Clerel.

Originally from Cameroon, Clerel developed his love for melody during a childhood steeped in the rhythms of church hymns, local lullabies, and contemporary French pop songs.

A school visit to the Stax-Volt Museum in Memphis marked a turning point in the young music lover's life, sparking his love affair with soul music, which has since become an integral part of his musical expression.

Now based in Montreal, Clerel uses his influences and poetic sensitivity to create simple songs with sounds that invite escapism, either solo or in collaboration. Whether performed at a backyard concert or on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, his songs are carried by an authentic voice that captivates from the first listen. This is evident in the tracks from his upcoming French EP, "Interlude," set for release at the end of july.
